100% Conservation of seeds
The conservation system we use in Dinafem is a pioneer in the world with regard to cannabis seeds. This is because from the beginning of this company, in 2002, there was a clear reflection: it was more than possible to improve the conservation of seed that was used at the time, consisting of putting the seeds in paper envelopes of foil, or rigid transparent plastic containers. The role does not prevent the seeds can be crushed, or that can get wet by accident, and the clear rigid plastic, depending on the bearing seal does not prevent the passage of moisture, and in any case of light.
So we created a system that prevents the seeds can be crushed: it begins with the cabinet within which the eppendorf container with the seeds, in addition, this metal box blocks out light. The second part of the design of protection is the eppendorf tube, a laboratory standard material used for the storage of liquid samples, the closure cap is completely sealed for this reason, and this led us to choose this product.
The next improvement was the concept of microconservación, usually to save seeds, keep talking about large containers filled with thousands of units, or air conditioning of a space to store many different batches.
The conservation includes 2 main aspects:
- Temperature
- Humidity
The temperature is easily controlled with the use of refrigerators, and are commonly used by both distributors and retailers to the preservation of seeds.
The humidity is as important or more than temperature, is more difficult to control, and suffers significant changes, since the heat out of the cold and vice versa, the humidity goes up or down significantly.
The microconservación is that each of the containers full of seeds is protected individually, so although there are variations in the outside atmosphere inside the container moisture conditions are constant.
To do so, add silica gel with color indicator inside the tube, so that although increasing the humidity outside, or vary the temperature, we have 100% safety of the air is completely dry. Eppendorf cap is a guarantee that no moisture enters, but also the silica gel fully guarantee that if you accidentally fall moisture is immediately absorbed by the silica gel beads.
The color indicator lets the customer know that the humidity has remained constant and therefore conservation has been perfect, if the color changes from orange (when completely dry) to blue, it means that the gel has absorbed moisture, and therefore the seed is secure, because that moisture in the atmosphere had already been absorbed by the gel. This color change occurs because the atmosphere was very wet at the time of packaging, or that the seeds were still some moisture on the inside, in either case, the system keeps them in a position Dinafem professionals.
